I just got off the phone with SA. The rep told me that they are currently working on guns received September 5th. I asked her if she supposed I could see mine later in the week(Sept 6), and she said possibly, but doubtful, as September 5th was probably the biggest wave of the recall. They are telling people that if your gun was logged-in on or before September 10th, you will have your gun back by Thanksgiving.

I had 2 go in on the 4th and one is showing fixed but nothing on the other. I have not gotten a shipping notice on the fixed on yet and it showed done on Friday.

Do y'all know if current XDS' in stores are generally already modified?

I've heard that too. It was already pretty hravy to beging with. I plan on getting a trigger job soon after getting it back.

FYI - there's an forum devoted to XD's called XD Talk. There's a board specifically for the XDs. The posters there throw up a lot of good reviews and updates.

I finally got mine back today after a couple of months. I wasn't happy about the wait, but as a nice surprise, they included a free extended mag (9 rds). That was a nice touch!

How is the trigger? There's people on XD Talk saying that they've sent their guns back again because they trigger is outrageously heavy - like 10 lbs.

I called Springfield and found out that they received my gun on Sep. 9th so I should have my gun back by Thanksgiving. I'm really not looking forward to the heavier trigger pull though. I will probably send it off and have a trigger job done, so that will be more time without my gun.

Yes, the trigger is stiffer/rougher when you first get them back. After breaking the new components in (Sear, Sear spring, grip safety and spring), the trigger seems to be just as good or slightly better than pre-recall. I've only dry-fired ~300 pulls and fired ~75 rounds at the range and I'm still pleased with the gun. I'll upgrade to Talon Grips soon.

I haven't been able to put any rounds through it yet, but I didn't notice any difference in dry-firing it. I'll let you know after I get a chance to log some range time.

from what i've heard is any xds in a store right now is outside the recall window or has already been fixed. I talked to some people at gander and they had to send back 17 xds's for the recall

Whoop, whoop! My gun status just got changed to "fixed". Still no shipping email, yet.

All XDS' were recalled. I don't believe there are any outside of the serial range given by Springfield. Since it is a huge liability for the gun shop owner to sell a gun with a known recall I would go out on a limb to say that anything you see for sale should be fixed. However, the easy way to tell is shown above with the roll pin in the safety.

Springfield received mine on Setember 5th and I just got it back Thursday with an extended mag. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but dry firing the trigger doesn't feel much different.

Went to the range yesterday and put ~150 rounds through it. Absolutely hated the trigger until about 50-75 rds in, then it loosened up a little bit. I still don't like it as much as I remember, but next time I will take my XDM 3.8 to compare. Maybe my memory just sucks

I'm playing hell trying to get my ****ing recall tag. Emails aren't working. I'm not a happy camper.

Mine was received by Springfield Sept 6. I was notified it was repaired on Nov 15, and I received it back on Nov 19.

Free extended mag enclosed. Gun was clean. Trigger might be slightly heavier, but seems negligible. Will shoot this weekend.

A note to those still waiting. The rep at Springfield told me that shipping is kind of backed up, too, so your gun might sit for a few days after being repaired (for those keeping track online).

Mine was received by springfield on 9/5 and I got it back this Wednesday 11/20. Haven't shot it yet but they sent me a .45 mag instead of a 9mm (mine is a 9mm). They are sending me the correct one. Anyone looking to buy a 45 mag?

Saw a couple at champions yesterday, pretty sure they has a .45 and a 9mm.

Finally got to the range today. I didn't notice much difference in the trigger. That being said, I'm a novice and this is my first handgun...and I only got a couple hundred rounds through it before the recall, so I'm not the best judge of the trigger feel difference. Unfortunately, the recall didn't fix my shooting technique.

Arrived at Springfield sept 6, got my baby back Friday. Headed to the range this PM and was rained out So glad to have it back!

Got mine back today. No discernible difference in the trigger when dry firing. Will take it to the range Monday. Sure was good to have it in the White Hat at 3 o'clock today.

Had a chance to give the recalled XDS.45 a try this weekend. Not sure if I've been biased by others' reviews, but seems like my trigger pull is much more substantial. Never measured it before I sent it in and haven't measured it officially since I've had it back, but the distance of trigger pull and amount of pressure required are substantially higher than pre-recall in my opinion.

Anyone know whether trigger jobs work on striker fire pistols as they do with any other platform? Gotta have this worked on or my baby will have to go in the safe for a long-term nap. Don't want a hair trigger given the lack of external safety and such, but shouldn't have to feel like I'm squeezing the last drop of juice out of an orange either.

My two XDs's were delivered today, the unfired/NIB one will go back in the safe, my carry one (bought Oct `12) I took to my range for a test drive. It seems to have a cleaner, lighter trigger pull, and digested the 200gr reloads and factory 230 Ball w/o a hiccup. Groups were very acceptable, glad they are back. 230Hp's to be tested another day (dang early sunsets!) Free mags (and small hard cases) a nice plus.
