Alright guys, looking for a new semi-auto shotgun.

Is the SBE II really worth the extra $$$

Shot my buddy's A400 xtreme quite a bit the other day, and I came away very impressed. The recoil reduction system is awesome, it's ergonomic with good safety location, and it breaks down quick and easy. Might be worth a look...

I haven't shot SBEs enough to really comment.

IMO you can't buy a better shotgun.

You don't need the 3.5 capability. Spend a touch less and get a 26in max 4 Benelli M2

What are you planning to hunt with it? If there is a chance you'll be chasing geese go for the SBE for the 3.5.

I would definitely like to try and use it for as many birds as possible. And that's why I'm leaning towards the SBE. I mainly dove, duck hunt, and have been goose hunting once and would like to have that option with the new gun

Had a SX3 until my son inherited it. Loved it.

The money you save getting the m2 you could buy some hevishot #2 for as little as you go goose hunting

That and you can easily kill geese and turkeys with a 3in shell

Ok.. I just did this song and dance 2 months ago. Wanted a new auto loader. Have been a Remington guy my whole life so I really wanted the Versamax to work. I did my homework. Talked to people who had them. Called Remington and asked questions about shell problems. When the customer service guy told me to avoid shooting Winchester shells, I hung up and knew the Versamax was not going to happen. Went to Gander Mtn and shouldered the Versamax (just for comparison), SBE II, Beretta, Winchester, Browning. I ruled out the Benelli Vinci... I kept coming back to the SBE II because it shouldered right every stinking time. It felt perfect. It swung great. Not that the others weren't good guns but the SBE was spot-on for me. I purchased one (not from GM...too much markup) and LOVE IT! Used it opening weekend on doves. The first 2 boxes need to be 3" or 3.5" shells to loosen up the action....per the dealer. I bought a 28" gun but it's closer to a 30" because the action is longer. Purchased an additional 26" barrel. It breaks down easily and I'm very pleased so far.

I have a Beretta and SBEii went back and forth with the a400 or the SBEii. I ended up with the SBE because the way it shouldered for me.

Plus it felt less "clunky", to me.

Either gun the a400 or the SBEii are both incredible.

SBE are excellent shotguns. Shoot great, not heavy, and easy to shoot. I always tell my friends if you can't kill birds with a SBE, then you don't need to be shooting guns.

SBE II is probably the best gun out IMO. I have a Vinci and love it, never needed to shoot 3" to "break it in" it shot light dove loads like a champ and still runs shells like a champ. 3,000 shells in

Went from an 870 to a Vinci to a SBEII. I beat the hell out of that SBEII and it keeps on truckin...I love it.

I love my Benelli super sport.
