I normally haul my kayaks around in the bed of my truck, but if i get a travel trailer, they will stick out too far for that to be a viable option any more. I would like to avoid rooftopping the kayak on my truck as well, as one of them is a Hobie PA12 and weighs ~120# empty (and it is never empty).

If I can't figure out an easier method, i may just have to stick with a popup trailer and put in on top of that instead.

Install a receiver hitch on the rear bumper of the travel trailer and slip in a carrier. Or pull a small trailer behind the TT that carries your kayaks. Just be sure not to exceed Texas' maximum train length of 65 total feet in length.

Would be really close to that 14` maximum. Would be interesting to see how easily I could get that thing vertical too

I have a neighbor that installs rope cleats on the side of his trailer and just ties it up there.

And he does it with sailboats. But he and his family have been hauling boats forever, so they have probably seen it all. Speaking of them, the wife's great, great+? grandfather was one of the original professors at A&M. Oh, just remembered, the son who just graduated was on the a&m sailing team. That was just anecdotal, not supporting info.

Is it ideal? Probably not.
But for 20 bucks for basic cleats, or 50ish for folding cleats, it gets the job done.
