Need some quick advice from the vets on this board...

My six month old dachshund ate about half of a non-toxic Crayola crayon. Should I be concerned enough to take her to the vet ASAP or will this go through her digestive system and come out the other end just fine?

She will poop rainbows and be fine.

My chihuahua ate half a bag of chocolates and puked all night, but was fine. Dogs are tough, especially young ones.

Think about it? Would you be that worried if you oe a kid ate a crayon? Na.

It's colored wax. Non-event, except for the colored poop. Our daughter would eat crayons when she was a baby. Multi-colored diapers. Didn't hurt her, she's now a lieutenant in the Air Force.

Though some would say a lieutenant isn't exactly proof of advanced intelligence.

I know a dog that eats golf balls.

So far more have come out than gone in... I think he produces them.

He also produced a 12ga hull once, too... primer intact.

My dog and my 3 year old kid are the Joey Chestnuts of crayon eating. Believe me, you've got nothing to worry about.

My dachshund has gotten into rat poison twice. He's still going at 15 years old (granted he's senile). I think you're fine with a half a crayon

My dog ate half a case of paintballs, there are 2,000 in a case.

She pooped colors for a few days and her cost was silky smooth for nearly two weeks, because paint balls are made of vegetable oils.

If you end up with a piece of lawn art, please Rule #1.

Okay, your pup is very artsy, but how in the hell do you get him to crap so neatly? That pile is neat, well organized and purdy.

My lab had been hit by a car, shot and gone blind before I got him. Oh and there was the time he drank antifreeze. He made it to about 12 when we finally had to put him down due to cancer. Oh yeah he/we fought that fairly well for a few months. Vet figured despite his age that without the cancer he would have had a few more years in him.

I'm sure the non-toxic crayon might be worse though.
