I have a very thick stand of natural (not planted) wild millet growing in my new duck hole. Hole is 35 acres and millet is in about 15 acres around the blind. Happy to see all the feed, but am concerned about not having any open water for a landing area. My first year at this place so I am trying to figure out the optimal management. Have never had this amount of grass at the other places I have leased. Always either coastal marsh, ag fields, or woods so management by me is minimal. This is a marsh type area south of Anahuac that is drained for cattle in February and then flooded again come teal season. Should I cut out a hole or just leave it standing? Water should be 6-18" deep depending on rain level and how quick we can drain off excess. Millet is at least 24'" high.
