Getting a nitrogen bottle filled

I'm trying to get a paintball sized (48 cu in) nitrogen tank filled with pure nitrogen for use in beverage dispensing. I live in Midland but will be travelling to Dallas, CS, and Houston in the near future. Does anyone have any ideas of where to get this done? So far I have struck out with all of the following:

Fire extinguisher store (CO2 only)
Academy (CO2 only)
3 welding supply stores (nothing small enough for pure nitrogen)
Scuba store (only premixed gasses)

It seems crazy that it would be so hard to get the bottle filled. It has a 5/8" quick release filler connection.

Try finding/calling a homebrew store?

Try Airgas? When I owned a scuba store I used to get my gas from them. A high-end scuba store can probably do this - I used to keep nitrogen on hand for technical mixes.

But airgas is probably a good bet.

I am not sure about the connection but I might try one of the tire places, not named discount tire. Most of them now sell nitrogen for tires and have the corresponding equipment to do so...

If not I am sure there are several paintball stores that can do it.

Don't every pay for nitrogen in your tires by the way. Complete waste of money!

Tried airgas, they only do swaps and it sounds like they don't have the same size bottle as me.

Currently on hold with the Mazda dealership trying to see if they can do it. Nissan couldn't/wouldn't.

Completely true. That stuff you're breathing right now is almost 80% nitrogen to begin with.

I'm building a tailgate setup. 2 3 gallon kegs fit in an Igloo 70 qt cooler. trying to keep everything mobile. You're right though, I might just have to buy a commercial nitrogen bottle. The only thing is my regulators fit the fitting that comes on a paintball bottle so I would need an adapter with a commercial nitro bottle.

I know there's a lot of paintball stores around DFW that do nitrogen refills. And the paintball field outside of CS does nitrogen refills. Google paintball shop in Dallas or fort worth

It wouldn't hurt to give Brazos Valley Welding Supply. They are some really nice guys over there and have helped me out with some oddball requests in the past.

Call metroplex welding in Dallas. They might be able to do it.

Paintball field will have N2. They won't fill it unless the hydrostatic test cert is up to date. They have to be performed every 3 years I think, and there will be a stamp on the bottle with the expiration date.
