Any tips on fishing at this park? Gear? Fishing spots?

I'm curious about this too.

I did see an older Hispanic woman catch about a 4 lbs bass with an empty plastic water bottle with fishing string wrapped around it. I don't see what she was baited with, but you should go with her technique.

I used to fish it quite a bit as a kid. We'd seine minnows (spot tail shiners) and use them to catch bass and bluegill.

As far as spots, we would stand on the far upstream dam and cast upstream. A Mepps Mino was always good (as were the shiners).

Also, we would stand on the far downstream dam and throw downstream. Here, there are undercut ledges on both sides of the bank below the dam. Fish are under the ledges for shade, oxygenated water and to ambush minnows.

I've also waded below the far downstream dam and flyfished with a Clouser and caught sunfish and bass.

In the winter, TPWD stocks trout in the park.
