I'm going down to Galveston with the family in a few weeks. I have plenty of fishing gear, but it's mostly for hitting bass/catfish/crappie up here in North Texas. I was hoping to do some surf fishing down by San Luis pass while I'm down but I don't really have the equipment, or the cash to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff. Does anyone know somewhere that I could rent a few rod/reels suitable for surf fishing for a few days?

Check the 61st street and Gulf Coast piers as they may have what you are looking for. I would guess that you have to use their equipment on their piers though.
