So I'm watching Doomsday Bunkers and they are testing a remote auto turret that basically senses movement and fires until there is no movement.

My question is is it legal?

Scenario is that you are not at your ranch, you have two or three auto turrets, a group of people come to the house to rob it. The auto turrets fire and kill all of them. They were trespassing on your property with the intent of breaking and entering as well as robbing you. You now have two or three dead bodies on your property.

Thoughts?

They said in the show that it was illegal to have a real firearm as part of the system.

Booby traps are illegal, and that probably falls under same category.

What about a remote operated turret that is aimed by video and fired by remote actuation?
