Found a Winchester Model 70 (Ultimate?)Shadow in .270 WSM that I'm interested in. Stainless w/synthetic stock

Anyone have any thoughts on this gun? I've searched around and haven't found many negatives like you'd find on something like a Remington 770.

Also, what would be a fair price for this gun. Used but looks to be in excellent condition.

Outstanding caliber. Love the .270WSM. Gun is pretty nice as well.

Shameless bump for the Monday morning crowd.

I love a 270 WSM!
I had, arguably, one of the first "wildcats" in that round 7 mos after the 300 WSM was introduced at "THE SHOT SHOW."
As for the Winchester Shadow I don't know.

That rifle is much better than the 770. I prefer the stainless/synthetic because it is more of an all weather rifle

Thanks guys. I went ahead and bought. Got it for $500. Looked at a couple places online and see its sells for $750-850 new so I feel pretty good about my price. It feels like a solid gun and doesn't feel cheap like some others I've looked at lately.

Now I need a scope. Will be hunting muleys in NM with it this fall. Any suggestions?

You're gonna get lots of suggestions for scopes. Depends a lot on your budget, but I wouldn't go cheap on that rifle, you got a good one. You cant go wrong with Nikon, Leupold, Vortex Burris, upper end Bushnell...lots of choices out there. Go to some websites and shop around like opticsplanet or SWFA.
Personally I dont think you need super high magnification as 10x at 1000 yards is the same as no magnification at 100 yards...unless you're shooting small targets. I like a 2.5 - 10x variable or 3- 12x var....just my preference.
