If any of you folks know someone that uses or collects tack made from rawhide or horse hair, I want to put you in touch with a fellow I know that makes it by hand. He was written up in Western Horseman this past June or July for his quality gear. I came to know him through a couple of ranch horse auctions we attend where he sells his gear. For most of his life he was a working cowboy in the traditional sense that most of his life was spent in the saddle. He learned how to make rawhide reatas and bosals. He also make bridles, cinches, and other items out of horse hair. This man is a craftsman and an artist at his trade. Very few people are around these days that can make tack like he does. If you are interested in seeing and learning more about his work, and perhaps buying some, contact me. I can be reached at: fat bruiser at yahoo dot com. I'll put you in touch with him and y'all can go from there.
This man is a magnificent craftsman and I appreciate excellent work, so I told him I'd let people know where they could find it.
thanks.
