If you're talking about the Tejas Vaqueros my dad and my brother have been to several of their gatherings but aren't members. Our neighbor was a member and they met often at a ranch near where I lived in Hunt. My brother would go over there and help them with the horses. He ended up drinking with RC Slocum until the wee hours of the morning at one of their gatherings. From what I've been told it's a good group of guys, mostly wealthy but all friendly, that like to drink and play cowboy.

I just know they are 'cowboy' guns and my pops like them.

I have a Ruger Vaquero in .45. Beautiful gun. It is a heavy single action revolver and I can't hit a thing with it. Still, would be useful to whack a surly bartender if the rye didn't get there quick.

FWIW its worth if you are referring to the Ruger than i would recommend the Blackhawk since it's sights are adjustable and more accurate.

I have drank w several Aggie Tejas Vaqueros and always had a good time. Houston based who's who cowboy club.

Work with one... They're nuts. Buddy here's some stories at the Houston cookoff and his jaw just hit the floor.

Good guys though.

I only know a few. Apparently it's a really hi-tone place to live. Mostly professional sports/CEO/trust fund baby types.

Heck of a golf course though. If you have to ask about the initiation fees, well, then you know...

Dragoons are much better for this.

Walkers are even better. Heavier anyway.

The movie is inaccurate, as the book clearly states Gus used a Dragoon on more than one occasion.

Great group of guys. OG members are absolutely real cowboys and cattlemen, my dad has been a member since the mid 90s. There are a small amount of members in more recent history who I wouldn't consider 100% cowboy, but the majority of them are. People from all walks of life, not a bunch of "trust fund babies". It's a family and a brotherhood. Tejas Vaquero members are friends for life. They camp, have a rodeo, trail ride, have cowboy church. Just cowboy stuff!
