OB, talk to me about how purchasing a gun through GB works. Obviously it is a widely used site hence I semi trust it, but I've never actually purchased something.

I know you need an FFL if out of state. What I'm specifically interested in is how paying with a money order works. The seller is verified with the site and has all positive feedback. TIA

(Edit for running out of replies)
Thanks WP, I can't find any thing like "ebay buyer protection" on GB and was just wondering if there's a way to somehow get the money order cash back if it turns out to be a scam.

Chupa - LOL that's what I'm trying to avoid.

Get a money order from USPS or somewhere, make a copy or take a picture, send to seller...pray that he's legit.

It's pretty straightforward. Seller gets your money order and ship gun to your FFL. FFL does the transfer and you pay them $20-25 normal fee.

Gunbroker has protections from getting stiffed. Don't think it happens much

How many other sales has your seller had?

Just re-read your post about verified and positive feedback. I wouldn't worry.

I think it is there policy that all guns go through a FFL, even intrastate. Email with any questions, get a shipping cost in writing (if not stated or "actual cost " before bidding, line up a transfer dealer. Call the transfer dealer to verify the price. Pay with CC if allowed, or mail a postal money order. Then, you have recourse via the CC company or through mail fraud statutes (the benefit of the USPS money order) .

Also check if it is insured for shipment.

Agree with what others have mentioned. I personally have purchased three long guns through GB and never had any issues with it. Best of luck with your purchase(s).

Never been burned on gunbroker. No feedback=no bid.

Thanks OB for all the responses! I feel a lot more confident about GB now.

Update: I found a link to GB's own Buyer's Protection but it seems to be limited up to $500 WITH a $100 deductible.

SWC - Seller has set shipping to "Priority Mail: $30" but no mention of being insured for shipment...
