Anyone ever had anything custom made from a prison such as a belt buckle or something like that?

I've heard that you can have things like that made by the prisons for fairly decent prices but was wondering if anyone here has ever done so or knows anyone that has done so and if so what the cost and quality of work was like.

Also, if you have, who and how did you contact them?

I'm not sure they do it for the public at large... I have several pieces that they've made for nonprofit organizations (fund raising) and municipalities.

Their work is usually great IMO, but no idea how to contact them. A police chief or sheriff's deputy would probably be your best bet at securing a contact.

I have a belt buckle and a key clip made by the prisoners. They are Aggie themed and I like them both a lot. I wear the key clip daily and the buckle on occasion. They were both gifts.

Only issue is on the buckle it says " Gig Um Aggies".

Texas state prison museum has a website and stuff to buy. Not sure if jewelry is one of them. They make the key fobs a lot of the fellas at the lodge have and they look pretty nice.

I had a great belt, silver buckle with name engraved, thick leather with silver tip for 80$. They said the Galleria rapist did it.

Call the Beto unit in Tennesee Colony (sorry don't have the number handy). Ask for the Craft Shop. Parish is the name of the inmate that did my key clip.

Crusader,

Call the Eastham State Prison in Lovelady, TX. They do the buckles and belts there. If you call they will direct you to the right person. It's good work I own a couple of belts and buckles from there.

My FIL got this rocking horse for my little girl for Christmas... purchased in a charity auction, but it was made by prisoners in Huntsville. I believe my wife knows who is the reseller.

You can have inmates in the Texas Prison System make you leather holsters, leather belts for your holster, and silver belt buckles....



They'll even make you a Cinco Peso star badge....

My MIL works at a prison and had several things made at the wood shop but not sure about buckles. It might depend on the prison
