I am about to buy an LED flashlight to mount on my AR and I have to decide between green or red. While I'm tempted to buy the green LED flashlight (because that seems to be the most recommended for hogs), I'm concerned that the green chevron in my ACOG (which I've already purchased) won't be as visible against everything the flashlight will be lighting up in green behind it. Will I have a problem with that (green on green)? Should I buy the red LED flashlight instead of green?

The green LEDs tend to project further, however we have red LED lights set up on all our feeders that are on a photocell and I can sit in my blind 100 yards away and look through my scope and see just fine. The red lights do not bother the hogs at all. The guy that I hunt with has an ACOG with red reticle and he does not have any problems with the red on red. I guess it would really just depend on how close the greens were to the same color.

Using Red light would help you stay dark adapted if that is any benefit to you. I think it comes down to personal preference.

I cannot speak on the visibility of green on green etc

I appreciate the feedback! Keep it coming, if anyone else has some insight. I haven't pulled the trigger just yet.
