So I was thinking about all my western boots and how I chew up a heel before the sole and was wondering if anyone sells a tap or something like it that is consumable to save the heel a while? Mine were always steel I guess and that might be a bit much but anything harder than rubber would be nice.

You can get black plastic ones at any shoe store. Even most grocery stores. Look by the shoe laces/polish.

Delrin would probably last you a lot longer than cheap plastic ones at shoe stores.

Probably so. I'll look into it. Forgot that they might be slicker than owl ****.

Well delrin is going to be slicker than most cheap plastics. Also, I'd rather have a softer plastic on my heal because anything much more durable is likely to damage certain floors.
