How long do you want to ignore this user?
Does anyone know how to get a decal to stick to the top of a yeti cooler? The surface is rough and they won't stick at all. We're giving them out to clients this Christmas and we would like to put our logo on the top.

TIA

You can have Yeti put the logos on for you. That is probably the best way, if you want them to look good and stay.

There are instructions on the website.

You can request details and pricing through the Yeti site:

Sorry, no help here if you already have the coolers and it's DIY.

We already have the coolers. Maybe use heat?

Call yeti and ask them. The outside is probably molded polypropylene or polyethylene (polyethylene is almost impossible to glue to), but I'm not that familiar with them. I would also be very leery of using heat to melt it on, the decal is likely a low melt temp vinyl and if they used a urethane-based foam for insulation, it will turn to mush starting around 160 degrees.

I'd check out some 3M products like VHB tapes and films to see if you can bond it to the decal, and then use the thickness of the tape itself to conform to and bond to the rough cooler surface.

SWC is right in that the coolers are made of polyethylene and are next to impossible to paint or put stickers on. This is due to the molecular structure of the material.

I don't know what they are using as their labels, but a heat source is needed to make the bond between the label and cooler. My guess is that the label is made of some type of polyethylene. The only other way I know to do this, is to treat the cooler with Fluorine gas.

I have one that I put a true decal from Yeti on several years ago....still there.

I have a son that has a whole bunch of "stickers" on one including The Gourds, Grateful Dead or AC DC...don't remember which etc.

Yeti sells a Sea Dek top. You peel the backing off and it is a glue type surface.

I'd think it is more related to the type of glue on your sticker.

Is it one of the original Doss stickers supplied by Fishing Fool?

Mine is still on.

Thin layer of PVC glue will work. But I'd test it on something else first.
