My 9 yr old is asking for a better bow. I got him a little cheapo Bear bow to start with and he loves it but is ready to move up. Is there one anyone has they'd recommend? I heard that the Diamond Bowtech Edge is one to look into. Any other suggestions?

Either the Razor Edge or if he's not big enough the Atomic

The Original Genesis Bow is a good one for learning good archery skills. It had a lot to recommend it in that it has a single cam and no let-off so that the draw length is not set at a specific length. The draw weight is adjustable with an Allen wrench. It was recommended to me by the bow repairman at Gander because it is used in the youth archery programs in the local schools.

BowTech Diamond Edge is great. Its a compact bow that comes with two limb options. I bought one with the 15-30 pound draw weight when my son was young and first starting to shoot. I also have the 30-60 pound limbs. As they get stronger, you simply replace the limbs and they have a bow they can shoot for years.

I bought my kids a diamond atomic. I recognized the 6-30 lbs draw limits future use, but for my 8 year old the ability to set the draw below 15 lbs was important.
