axis tend to pattern very easily. just find out where they are at certain times of the day and be there before they get there.

Damn. They haven't patterned easy for me...

They show up on random days every 2 weeks or so...

Look near water. Most of the ones I have seen stick fairly close to streams or creeks and the brushy areas around them.

Ours will come to both. There are just so many of them they tend to clean it up fast and move on.

Axis are strange. Sometimes they come to the feeder right when it goes off, others they show up around 9. We used to joke that they kept bankers hours.

Not sure if you have access to flat land and/or a tractor, but they love winter oats.
If can plow a field (a few acres), wait a year, and hope we get some good rainfall, they would certainly gravitate towards it.

I have seen them eat corn as well, but their patterns are much different from whitetail.

Best chance of shooting an azis is knowing their patterns and positioning yourself where you can intercept one. Almost all of the axis I have shot have come between the hours of 9am and 3pm.

Our axis love alfalfa - and they are a "gentleman's deer"

Alfalfa, for sure

If they know if is there consistently they will graze on it
