The upper receiver on my wife's Noveske is a VLTOR MUR. It's pretty nice. Our goal was light weight with her gun, so we ditched the forward assist. IMHO, it's extraneous and unnecessary, if not dangerous. If you can't chamber a round with the depression on the side of the bolt carrier, just eject it and try the next round. Using more force really has the potential to make things worse. Either there's a problem with the round, or the gun (or your thumb!), and forcing it could result in a stuck case, or depending on what is making it difficult to chamber, even a KABOOM.
