Does anyone know of anywhere to fish along 146 or anywhere between Deer Park and Texas City? I have seen a few people with kayaks near the bridge when leaving Kemah. A kayak will be too much to deal with while "working" but if wading is an option I am all ears.

Lots of people kayak fish it, but wading options are limited due to development.

What mouth said.

But if you want to wade, I believe the "beach" along the bay off Toddville Rd offers decent wading near the mouth of the Seabrook Lagoon. Also, I believe there's a park with public access on the Kemah side of the channel where you can wade south of the Kemah Boardwalk. There's also a couple parks in San Leon & Bacliff where you can walk in and wade iirc.

Have either of you fished those areas before?

No, closest I have fished to there is Moses Lake, but it is just like the rest of the bay in that area. I know some people that fish there now and then, and they've described it for me. Good for trout, and you will find some flounder and reds at times.

I've fished the flats in front of the Seabrook lagoon but I've never waded it, just kayak.

Those areas are mentioned in Ray Crawford's books on wade & kayak fishing spots.

I also think troutslime fishes the San Leon area regularly.

Access to wading area is very limited as most of the land is privately held. The park in El Jardin can be good as it gets colder. You would do better fishing along Skyline drive and the TC dike. Out in front of the Bacliff Spiway can produce at times. I like all these areas when it gets cold. Throw Mirrolures around the pier pilings and any bait you might see.

My second biggest trout ever came from that area .
