Best option for buying corn?

I'm in Flower Mound going to meridian tomorrow.

So it could be here or along the way.

I'm talking bags, not tons like some of you high rollers.

Cabelas, Academy, even Dick's has corn

Be prepared to pay at least $8-10 for a 40lb bag though

I'm not sure if WalMart has it yet, but their price per pound is usually pretty competitive (even in their smaller bags).

I saw it was $6.99 at Brookshires in E. Texas last week for a 40# bag. I've also seen $9 for a 50#. Not much change from last year.

Usually Dick's is cheaper than Academy, but Academy will match Dick's advertised price (or verified with a phone call).

In my experience, Wal-Mart is usually higher.

Last week Dick's had 40s on sale for $7.49.

If you have a place to put a hopper tank at your house or lease and can buy corn off the turn row from a local farmer then you might see the economics in buying a hopper tank.

The mark up on bagged corn can be displaced if you buy in bulk and put it into a hopper tank. It will probably only take 3-4 years for it to pay for itself, after that your just saving money.
