Ive been wondering for awhile about pet insurance. Is it legit or a money waster? What does or will it cover? And what is a good company?

Is legit, will pay for itself, especially in BIG vet bill situations. The coverage comes in all shapes and forms (i.e. basic coverage, all the way to cancer treatment coverage as an option). Price will vary, but most start at $20/month with 75-80% coverage for most of the vet bill. I've always had good experience with it, as have my clients. Several to choose from....google for options.

I would also be very interested for any recommendations of companies that you have dealt with that seem to be legit and don't make it a pain in the ass for customers. There are so many options out there and first hand knowledge is always the best review to me.

VPI is the one I see mostly. You have to understand that it is REIMBURSMENT in most cases. YOU still pay the bill, you submit the receipt and they mail you a check, usually within 2 weeks. I have never had a client complain about using it.

Could be either way. For huge bills, which you hope you wont't get, good. For small, "expected" bills, they won't help. For that I would suggest looking into vet discount plans. I've heard of Pet Assure and United Pet Care, but I'm sure there are more.
