I originally planned on having my moose and caribou mounted by the taxidermist that imported them, but he is in North Dakota and the shipping is pretty dang expensive if he does them. I'm now considering having the capes and antlers shipped to me so that I can have a taxidermist in the Houston area do them. This would cut about $500 of shipping out of the equation. Does anybody have a recommendation for a taxidermist in the area for big game animals? Maybe somebody like B&B Taxidermy or Brush Country? Not looking for cheap, but somebody that is good.

I've seen a lot of stuff done by Brush Country. They do realy good work.

Brian's Taxidermy on 249 just south of Tomball did a great job for me.

Not really Houston, but Bryan has Palermo and he did an outstanding job on my deer.

I used B&B for the ram that I shot. I think they did a good job, were a little more than the cheapest, and took about 9 months, but I was pleased with their work. I was especially pleased with horn repair work they did on it. They have some nice looking work in their shop too if you haven't been there yet.

Also, I can't beleve no one posted chuck testa on a taxidermy thread.

Just left B&B and those guys do a damn good job. Super friendly folks that gave me a full tour of their operation. As a bonus, they have a really hot new Aggie grad as their receptionist.

ha, when I went they had an old woman as their receptionist. Now I need to shoot something so I can go in and check her out.

I saw this caribou wall pedestal mount today and I think this is the route I am going to go with mine. I've never seen a caribou mounted like this and it really showcases the tops alot better than the standard shoulder mount. My caribou is almost bleach white around the neck so it should show that off as well. Thoughts?

I have several mounts from b&b, but Bass in Texas city is my now go to after my latest buck and pheasant.

Why did you change from B&B? Did you have a problem with one of your animals?

No. I used Bass in the past since I lived so close to them many moons ago and Randy is one of the nicest guys you can meet. He did a few birds for some wounded soldier friends of mine last year and did an amazing job when I went to pick up their animals. So I sent him my Kansas pheasant and it was amazing work when I got it back. B&B does great work. I just like dealing with Randy since I have used him for the better part of a decade. Hard togo wrong with either, just wanted to give you another option.

2nd Major Creations! Solid Guy and a a even better Taxidermist! Took my pops and mine bucks there in January and told me it would be August. Got a call in late May that they were ready. Quick turn around and look good.
