Im looking at doing a 3 day weekend fishing trip to the Copano Bay area with myeslf and three other family members. Anyone have any good experience with chartered bay trips in that area? I would be looking for a 2-3 day charter.

Any advice/recommendations would be much appreciated!

Have used several guides in the Rockport area including Kevin McCoy, Larry Robinson and George Herzog. Larry and George have websites so u can google them and I bet Kevin does too. Had good success with each of these guys.

Ryan Wagner is a good Aggie guide out of Rockport, should be able to google for his contact info.

Depending on what day you are wanting to go I have a very good friend who guides in that area.

After doing some more research, I'm thinking an all day Saturday trip would suit us best. Seems like most prices are $600-650 for a group of four for an all day (8 hour) trip.

This past weekend we finally went on our fishing trip. I decided to go with Larry Robinson of Shallow Water Guide Service out of Rockport. It was my dad, uncle, cousin, and myself.

Apparently the trout and redfish had stopped biting over the last week, so I was a little worried when we launched. Captain Larry tried to put us on to some trout and redfish early on, but we only caught a handful of fish, and one keeper trout. We were all starting to get really worried... The day was coming to an end, so Larry made a gamble to run to the opposite side of the bay to chase black drum. I am soooo glad he did!!! We ended up catching 17 keeper black drum in about an hour!

If anyone is going to be scheduling a fishing charter out of Rockport, I HIGHLY recommend Larry Robinson of Shallow Water Guide Service!!!
