What are your favorite/recommended deer and outdoor type books?

I would recommend:

"White-tailed Deer Habitat: Ecology And Management on Rangelands"

"The Whitetail Chronicles" by Mike Biggs

"Whitetails: An Unprecedented Research-Driven Hunting Model" by Robert Sheppard

This is the best book I have seen in regards to learning about the aging and scoring Texas whitetails.

**Edit for this one not being particularly about whitetails but a great read for any outdoorsmen.

Gladesmen: Gator Hunters, Moonshiners, and Skiffers by Glen Simmons

Great read by a lifelong Everglades resident Glen Simmons. Simmons shares stories about life in the southern Everglades prior to the establishment of the Everglades National Park in 1947.

Anybody else with any suggestions? I'm looking hard for some good books for a wildlife/hunting/fishing/outdoor library I'm assembling.

Bob Zaiglin has authored or co-authored a couple of very good books on whitetail. He is a Texas based game biologist, currently based out of the junior college in Uvalde. He has extensive knowledge of Texas whitetail and consults with a lot of managed hunting ranches in South Texas about whitetail management and hunting. I suggest you google him by name, you will find his website.

A second recomendation for you. If you are interested in trophy judging " A Boone & Crockett Club Field Guide to Measuring and Judging Big Game" is absolutely great. I am a certified scorer for TPWD and Texas Big Game Awards and this is the book that is the standard official scorers use. It goes beyond just the tape and cable scoring, and includes, by specie, things to help you judge all North American game animals "on the hoof" and how/what to look for. It is a must for any hunter that hunts for North American trophy game. Google " Boone and Crockett Club" and you will find this book and several other good books on their website. You will want the 2nd addition.......it is the latest and comes in a handy paperback.
