Take the dresser apart, as best you can, and place out in the direct sun. This will work best mid-summer when it is very hot. Depending on how long the they were in the dresser it might take many days of doing this.

It's kinda like stale smoke, if you let it sit and air well enough, then it will eventually get to be just about unnoticeable, but it will never really go away. Wipe the inside with a wet rag, and let it sit open with the smelly parts exposed to the sun for a few days. If that doesn't cut it down, then not much will.

My first thought was no, but OB knows stuff so I thought I would ask...

Vinegar will do it

I swear the cure to cancer is hidden in vinegar. With as many uses as people claim it has, it has to be in there somewhere.

Making it smell like vinegar is not the same as eliminating the napthalene.

Sounds like this dresser will be perfect for storing things that I want to smell like mothballs!

Try some bricks of charcoal? They absorb smells.

I had a gross musty camp house....stunk to high heaven, I put several cups of vinegar around and when I went the next time, the smell was gone.

So, this vinegar.... In a cup or on the wood?. Might as well try, otherwise it's firewood...
