Are there any ranches in Texas you all specifically know of in which Red Stag are really a fair-chase hunt? Most of the places I've seen (in person and on the internet) have them standing around like cows on ranches that are about 1,000 acres or so. This is really a 2-part concern: do the ranches provide enough space & cover, and are the Red Stag themselves very wild?

Red Stag hunting in New Zealand, for example, seems like a fair chase proposition because of the mountainous terrain.

I know the WO Ranch near Kerville is fairly free range when it comes to Red Stag Hunting. I have no idea of an actual animal per acre figure, but we share a fenceline with them, and it seems like what you are describing

You can find the Red Stag right next to the Jim Beam.

Rio Bonito ranch east of Junction is 16,000 acres low fence and generally have some red stag fair chase. Last time I hunted there, they had an Eland on the loose that was fair game.

I do t know about fair chase, but I always see some driving through Dublin. My guess is they are probably not fair chase...

We killed a Red Stag doe in Waller county last year. It had been on the property for a few years and we finally took it. Probably escaped from some high fenced place.

Hunters Quest has a 10,000 acre ranch with alot of elevation variation and cover and a good number of red stag. It's fair chase as long as you don't sit at a feeder and take em
Owner is Wendal Reich and he lives in Plano. If you can't find him on the net let me know and I will connect you

FTA is seeing http://www.wendyloureserve.com/ outside of Dublin.

It is high-fenced and not sure if you consider that fair chase enough, but they do have some nice stags.

You're going to have a hard time with that "fair chase" part. Most Red's are behind high fence. There are Elk that are free ranging in far west TX though.
