What are the most comfortable brand of store-bought cowboy boots? I usually buy Ariats, but I'd like to get some comfortable ones for my dad.

TIA

Obligatory

The ones that fit your foot best. That's why they let you try them on.

My Lucchese classics are in a league of their own

My Lucchese Cowboys > my Anderson Beans > my Ariats

Anyone why says square toe are more comfortable isn't trying on the right size round toes. Construction is a buch bigger factor than shape

I'll probably get slammed for this but..,,,,

I have a jacked up ankle and have worn a lot of different off the shelf boots. The most comfortable for me are Justin ropers with the crepe sole. I have worn other brands but the crepe soles make the difference on my ankle.

Crepe soles are softer/more forgiving. It makes sense that they would feel better

Won't crepe soles wear out faster or am I remembering wrong?

My ariats are the most comfortable I own. My Larry Mahans are tolerable. The only time I tried on Anderson beans in the store my foot ached for 20 minutes and I only walked up and down the isle once. My buddy however loves his beans.

So, go try them on. It different for different folks. But, I've never heard anyone say luccheses are uncomfortable.

Ariats are great but I also have a pair of Nakonas that are really comfortable too.

I've got bad ankles and after an exhaustive search, I settled on Double H and Nocona as my top picks for comfort and quality.

Thanks for the tip... I'm glad you're an expert on the shape of my foot. Never mind that if you have a wide foot at the front you have to get the next size up to have enough room in the toe box, and that causes the front of the boot to have a huge amount of spare room, the ball of your foot to hit further back on the sole than intended, and the front to curl up like Ronald McDonald's clown shoes.

This is BS... people's feet are shaped differently. It's going to depend on what their foot is shaped like, arched, etc. Red Wings are normally very comfortable and durable for constant work (moreso than ariat IMO), but if they don't fit your foot shape, they aren't an option. I wear a 14EE in a square toe boot and a 15 in a round/R toe boot, and they don't fit nearly as well. I wish redwing would make a square toe workboot in expanded sizes.

Thanks for the tips.

Are the 4H boots only for sale at the College Station Cavender's? I've never seen them before.

Not to hate guys, but as the son of a CEA I have to intervene. Unless you are a current 4H state officer or current 4H'er, I have to say you don't have a lot of business putting those on your feet. But to each his own, your money etc., just my .02

I wear some pretty loud boots, but you wouldn't catch me dead in a pair of those trying to relive my glory days as a clover kid.

My screwed up ankle leads me to have a screwed up gait. I wear the outsides of the sole down faster than the rest of it. I usually get them resoled every 18-24 months which was about the same if not a little longer than leather sole lasted.

Ariat's aren't comfortable? Mine aren't bad and I have 4E width feet.

My favorite so far are Anderson Bean. Also, they are made in Texas.

All depends on your foot and the last the boot maker uses. My feet hurt pretty bad after a short walk down the aisle in Ariats, AB also are pretty uncomfortable to me.
I have found that the Lucchese classics and Tony Lama are the most comfortable for my feet.

My Ariat Workhogs are pretty comfortable but I've grown up accustomed to rubber soled work boots over dress boots.
I will also say that square toe boots fit wide feet better, no matter what you skinny-footed people say. My current boots are a 11.5EE and I couldn't find a round toe around that fits as well in width and length as those.

Lucchese all the way. I wear mine to work every day (office job).

Double H are pieces of crap. I didn't have my pair a month before they started falling apart.

Double H-work boot for me, very comfortable and I have had them 2 years and I wear them any time I get the chance. I wear em for working on the deer lease and they get pretty tore up (then I clean em up and wear to work when I can get away with it, haha), but damn they're comfortable.

My two ariats are not as comfortable as my beans.. The beans shape to your feet over time because they are all leather and hand made. Think baseball glove...

However, my redwings are soft like a good pair of tennis shoes. My old justin are nice and comfortable. beans take the cake though.

Has no one heard of Twisted X? I've had them for several years and think they are more comfortable than most others I have had over the years.

I love my twisted X shoes. Wear them almost everyday. I have a pair of old Tony Lama full quill that fit my foot and are the most comfortable boot. My Blackjack Elephants are of equal comfort.
