Ok help me (really my friend) out Ags. A guy I work with just bought a Browning BLR 1976 model .308 from a pawn shop. It was missing the clip when he purchased it and he figured it would be easy to find one. Well we started looking around and found out that this particular magazine has been out of production for years and are now very hard to find. I know they are going for about $150 to $200 per clip (which is nucking futz!!!) if you can find one but if you know of a dealer or a private party that has one please let me know.

You know, maybe I'm underthinking this, but magazines just couldn't be all that difficult to fab. If the going rate on one is $100-$200, you'd think somebody out there would tool up to make a few. Even in small batches I'd bet you could make pretty good money selling them at $50-$75 a pop.

Just a thought.

Exactly what we were thinking yesterday. Find a good gun smith, make a few and sell them as aftermarket clips for alot cheaper.

A quick look at Numrich Arms lists the magazine you are looking for. Although currently sold out, I'd call them and talk to them about the issue. $57 and change is fairly cheap.
They also list all the parts to build your own.

On stuff like this you can't be in a rush or you'll pay through the nose.
