Pre-ban absolutely matters considering they're more sought after. There were roughly 12 different Colt Ar-15 models that were pre-ban 89-94, but regardless that's a good price for a good condition pre-ban.
If you can tell me what model it is and if it's a heavy barrel I can get you pretty close to what it's worth, but the cheapest of the 12 was still north of 1k in excellent condition. Hope that helps.
By like new I mean it is a used rifle but it in excellent condition. I stripped it and the wear is absolutely minimal. The exterior is not scratched or worn anywhere. You could not tell it was a used AR unless you knew it was an older model.
I simply like the look and feel of the older AR's. I'm also a big Colt fan with a small collection of 1911 style pistols. I haven't seen many of these available in this kind of shape and knew you guys would have good input.
