Pretty much a last minute decision to go there for Labor Day weekend. Other than going to the state park or other areas at the lake is there anything good to do for kids? Ours are 5 years, 3.5 years and 21 months old. Indoors or outdoors, it doesn't matter. Our kids are pretty good with the heat.

EDIT TO ADD: Not looking for places to stay. That is taken care of already.

You could rent some canoes from dick's place and canoe down the brazos from the dam. That usually takes ~4 hours.

JD05AG-

That sounds like something me & the wife would do but kids the age of ours cannot do ANYTHING for 3-4 hours; not even sleep..............

Westfest is Labor Day weekend. The kids could enjoy that during the day.

Texas Safari in clifton has been closed for over ten years, however, fossil rim and dinosaur valley in glen rose is just a quick hop from there.

We did Dinosaur Valley State Park & Fossil Rim last year. The two older kids really loved it. Our 5 year old boy still talks about it at least every couple of weeks. We just might do it again.
