Does anyone use either of these services for their lawn? I have a 1 year old lawn that is struggling right now and want to make sure it recovers this fall and continues to get thicker and get deeper roots so that it makes it better next year.

I have no idea what it would cost on a monthly/quarterly basis but want to find out.

Google randy lemon. Follow his advice. If you choice to go the pro route it has a lot more to do with who your spray tech is than which company you hire.

We've been in our Sugar Land house since April '78 and have used Chem-lawn/Tru-green for at lest 20 of those years. After paying for the service for a few years, my wife and I decided to try fertilizing the yard with a spreader. It never looked as good as when we had the service, so we went back to using them.
Most of the time it has been worth the expense, but one time the tech forgot to "stir the tank" prior to loading his truck. As we were the first stop on his route, our lawn suffered the consequences. About half way through the front yard he realized something was wrong, and that half looked liked it had been in a 10 year drought. I've never seen it so brown and dead, but when it came back, it came back with a vengence.

Tru-Green is horrible in Midland/West Texas area. That is all.

depends how big your lawn is and how much time you have.

if you have a small lawn, sprinkler system, and 20 minutes then do it yourself.

We used Scott on a 10000 sf lot in Grapevine on their 12 month service plan. $55 per month. They did a great job and the yard/shrubs looked great. My neighbor signed up too but has sine quit. And you can tell.
