I have pics of sire and dam if you want to see them too. All puppies are current on their shots and worming and ready to go. I need to move them now. Please PM if interested.

Nice pups!
If I weren't already on Don Abney's waiting list, I'd consider it.

NW80: Thank you! I completely understand; he's got great stock and is very knowledgeable. I've talked to Don before (for hours - it's easy to do) on the phone. lol. Let me know if anybody you know is looking.

I'm thinking about an Aggie discount tho

Yeah, he's probably THE authority on Catahoulas.
I'll tell you that having trained alot of different dogs in my life, that I love the breed. I've never, maybe except for a lab, dealt with a more loyal, attentive and smart dog in my life.Of course, like anything else, you get what you work for. Just seems they're alot less work.
They're great!

You're right... he's done more research than anyone. He's forgotten more about Catahoula details etc than I'll prolly ever know. He's worked with friends of mine (Nikki at Double Ott, Phyllis at White Rock, Mike Lee at Lee's and the Corlews). Sherry Bando at Camp-A-While is great as is Aubry Aden (Aden's Catahoulas).

At the end of the day, you surround yourself with folks you trust. You'll get good dogs from from Don. Look for older stuff. If you'd like, I don't mind talking over the phone a bit.

I have a passion for this breed!! The are jam up bayin' machines on hogs. They air scent so they don't mess around in circles but go straight to tha bait baby!! Great S&R dogs for the same reason. They are also great cattle dogs and are every bit as smart as a border collie and will run a BC's ass off with more grit. Don't put 'em on sheep sheep get BC's as they won't nip/chew their heels.

Do me a favor... when you get your pup from Don; post a pic. I'm fixin' to post one of my gyp BleuBelle... the next one to get covered!

Great looking pups!
I love Leopard Dogs, I have two 7 month old Catahoula x American Bulldog puppies. My brother has been breeding Catahoulas out of the Wolf River line for 18 years. A couple of years ago he bought a really nice American Bulldog female from Top of Texas Kennels and started crossing her with his best male Catahoula to bulk them up a little for catching hogs.

Hopefully I'll hear from him relatively soon.
I am holding out for a red gyp.
I figure I'll breed Pete to her in two or three years when he hits 10 or 11.

87.. that cross type ('houlas X bulldogs) is becoming more popular - especially with hog hunters. That and 'houla X dogos. Wolf River has great dogs too!

NW.. you looking for a solid red or red leopard? I think Don took one of his gyps (Trash) to Double Ott (Nikki) to get covered by (bad arse) Raptor who is a red leopard. In fact I know he did: http://www.doubleott.com/ but all the pups went like greased lightning.

Good luck... I know it'll be worth the wait!

BTW... I'll take $100 off for an Ag!

AginKs, no sooner than I typed the last post, I got an E-mail from Don with two litters. No red gyp though.
I'm still holding out for one. He's breeding a gyp right now that has the characteristics I'm looking for. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Damn. If I was in a house, I'd buy one for both hunting purposes and as a playmate for my border collie. Maybe a future litter?

Agfencer... the dam is still young (under 2) and we'll have another litter with her in the spring. I'll keep y'all posted

By the way... a BC and a 'houla would be awesome on cattle and make great running buddies.

Oh and this is BleuBelle:

I like that red trim on a blue merle.

These are my two. They are 5/8 'houla, 3/8 American Bulldog.

Love the double glass on the tan/white and I like the markings blue merle/lower pic. I bet they end up gritty. Are planning to work or hunt or both with them?

Interesting that the first puppy's colors throwback to the Beauceron heritage.

So far I’ve worked with my pups on trailing hogs while on a lead rope. The blue merle bays like a coondog when he gets on a scent. Their main jobs will be to keep the wild pigs from rooting up my front yard again and to act like the crazed, testicle biting hounds from hell whenever anyone, especially my daughters’ future dates, arrive at my house.

If anybody knows anybody that is interested let me know please. I knocked a $100 bucks off for an Ag; but I'm willing to deal further. Whether I sell 'em to another 'houla breeder, cattleman, hunter or to work in SAR makes little difference to me (as to how they are worked); just that they go to a good home with a firm/fair hand.
Thanks

Im interested but with one new (under 6 month old) puppy and a 9 year old lab who acts like one, my husband is not.

Great looking dogs!

Agkin,

shoot me an email at shawnj97 courtesy of gmail. I'm not ready for a new pup, it's still too soon since I lost mine but come Spring I'll be looking for sure. I would have preference for a male version of your blue belle.

I got some things that came up... so I'm going to $300: but that is it. No more, no less.
