A friend of mine was sent this pic. Was taken around Squa creek reservoir. The alligator was dead and it measured 14 feet. Anyone know of gators that big in there or is this a pic floating around the internet?

Looks more like a croc than a gator to me.

If the gator is big, the dude casting the shadow taking the picture must be HUGE.

a dead gator doesn't stand but about < 1 foot off the ground; so the shadows actually could match.

The size of the mans shadow compared to the gator's body is what would give it away for me.

I'd say 10-12 footer easy based on tail length. could go 14 or 15 maybe

Where is it from? who knows.

That's the same gator that ate the deer in South Carolina, Alabama, no Florida

I live near Squaw Creek reservoir. There are gators there, the game wardens would put them in there when called to take pets off of citizens hands. There was a large one killed a couple of years ago n Somervell county near the lake. The lake stays warm year round, hot in fact this time of year.

It's tough to be an Ag...but it's always been worth it.

Yeah, no. Any former "pet" is going to destroyed, and and gator over a certain size (4' I think) that is a nuisance gator is destroyed, due to the homing instinct.

Sorry. Guess the game warden that told me that didn't know. Anyway, there are gators at Squaw Creek. And there was a big one killed near there.

There are alligators in Squaw Creek.

...now if you'll kindly give us the name of the Game Warden who used to toss pet gators into Squaw Creek we would really appreciate it. We know some people who would like to "talk" to him.

Tell him not to worry about coming forward, unemployment benefits are really good right now.

Unless you keep hunting them out, gators would find it.
