Just figured some of you outdoorsmen in the Gonzales/Cuero area have been to the "Leggern" & would like to know it is closing June 4. Hopefully someone buys the place & keeps it going. I hear the Eagleford oil boom has really increased business there...

Well that's a shame. A&M days often included weekend trips to Westoff for safaris on the Windy Hill ranch that killed a lot of beer and whiskey, usually started off at the 'Leggern, and the annual Outlaw party at Lindenau...

you know, now that I think about it... I believe I will go take an aspirin. Thanks for posting.

I attended an Outlaw party and know a few charter members.

Some of you people sure seem to know a lot about my old stomping grounds!!

Rumor has it that back "in the day" it was a place much like the "Chicken Ranch" in La Grange.I have no personal knowledge of that, but do remember Rosie's in Cuero, it was just out past the Auction Barn on what is now Rosie Dunn Road before it was burned down by the Sheriff in the late 50's!
