Are there any shoulder holster guys out there?

I ordered a Galco half harness shoulder holster set up for my S&W 642 this morning. I wear Cinch White Label jeans and tucked-in, buttoned-up starched shirts everyday. As a result, I haven't been able to find a great way to carry concealed as my jean pockets aren't large enough and tuckable IWBs are a PITA since I spend a lot of time each day seated - either in the truck, around meeting tables, or at my desk.

I'm hoping the shoulder rig will prove to be slim enough to conceal under a heavy starched shirt without printing too bad. We shall see.

FWIW, I know shoulder holsters have a stigma for being slow drawn rigs that are over glorified in cinema. I hope this works for me. If not, you might see a post from me in a few weeks trying to sell it to another sucker.

have you looked at crossbreed's IWB tuckable holsters?

They look pretty comfortable. I might try it out in the near future. I'll let you know how it goes.

i am sure someone on this forum has some experience with these.

I wear a shoulder holster when I am working on the property or sometimes when hog hunting. I tend to get a side holster caught on too much so a great alternative is the shoulder holster route. I just bought one of the $20 Academy ones, nothing fancy.

Give us an update one you try it out. I had a shoulder holster I wore around the farm briefly. When a gun fell out when I was moving square bales, I took it back.

Have you tried a 5.11 tactical undershirt? http://gtdist.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PartNumber=511-40011

Have you considered ankle holsters/boots combo???
Cowboy boots are usually big enough to house a smaller frame gun, should work with a 642.

I'd bet the shoulder rig won't work very well under a shirt.

+1 for Crossbreed Super Tuck Deluxe. I have a couple, they work very well.

For under a shirt, recommend you take a look at the t-shirts as mentioned, or belly bands.

I'll post up a review when it arrives and I've had a chance to try it out.

I've tried several different types of IWB I find them to be quite uncomfortable if I'm seated for more than an hour at a time. I don't mind wearing them out to dinner, but that's about it.

I do have an ankle rig that I can wear with my boots, but it rides pretty high up on my calf. It's the current setup that I use most often at work. My only complaint is access to the firearm is very restricted with starched jeans.

If the shoulder holster isn't too bulky, it think it'll work just fine. If not, holster shirts might be an option. They're just so stinkin' expensive!
