Getting a new lease. Starting from scratch on blinds, etc.

I have built blinds, but it was 25 years ago and have some but not all memory of some plans. Of course that was the day before the caddilac fiberglass set ups, which we will not be doing.

They do not have to be fancy like with insulation, just basic plans/ideas.

how much do you think the materials will cost to build a blind and roughly how long to build it?

I am trying to decide if I want to buy a blind or build one myself.

To build one to last, using treated lumber, you are looking between 350-$400 to build a good 5'X5' blind. That is is you are buying all new materials. If you can salvage used stuff from a construction site, the better.

Built 3 8x8x4 blinds with 2x2s last year and they are solid as a rock.

If I had to do it again, I'd use treated lumber and plywood. As it was, we had to paint to seal it, which took extra time and $.

All in all, I think it was around $300 per blind and took a month of "when I get the time" pre-assembly with 1 weekend of on-site construction.

I just built a 4x6 blind that is 6'6" tall in the front and 6' in the back.

I used plywood and 2x4's for the frame and tin for the roof.

My cost is right over $300.

I see at the back of the trailer, you have the always needed Beerwrench!

My buddy builds elevated octagonal blinds made of metal tubing. 360 degree hunting is sweet.

Shiner 101 had just come out and I was rarely without one throughout the build.
