A very short run from 1996 to 1999 for this unique variation of the 11-87 / 1100 models. Made to directly compete with european made trap & skeet guns on their own turf. Remington overbuilt this gun and it was not too profitable for them, but it did meet and beat the competition. At a scant 7 pounds with extremely well balanced handling, it was voted shotgun of the year in 1997. This example is in near perfect condition throughout. Two blemishes shown in photos are a pencil colored rub mark off center on receiver top and slight bluing wear at shell carrier plate on bottom. Three rem-choke stainless tubes come with it; MOD, IMP CYL and SKEET. Used for comparison test and write up, this shotgun has less than 300 rounds through it without any incidents or break-in hiccups. It is the softest shooting shotgun I've ever fired; softer than a famous maker 20 gauge semi-auto. You could shoot this all day without recoil bruising. The 28 inch vent rib chrome-moly barrel is a perfect length for clays or hunting. It handles 2 3/4 or 3 inch shells comfortably. The wood is beautiful hand rubbed solid walnut in matte finish. Checkering on the fore end and grip are very grippy and perfect. The medium width double step sight ramp and rib make aiming instinctive, especially with the small gold sight bead at the end. The bluing on the receiver and highly polished barrel are like the quality of 50 year old premium Remingtons. Absolutely top level craftsmanship and good looks at any angle.
