How long do you want to ignore this user?
Has anyone ever used the Dallas Veterinary Surgical center? http://www.dfwvetsurgeons.com/

Our 45 lb pointer mix has a luxating patella and needs surgery to fix it. Our vet referred us to this place, but we want to explore all the options and make sure we're getting the best deal/care.

Are there any other places we should check out? And has anyone else been through this?

Thanks!

I can tell you that in my experience the level of care you receive at this type of location is top notch and first class. However, you are going to pay a premium for a board certified surgeon performing the procedure. I do not live in the Dallas area, but know in Houston I refer to a non-boarded surgeon who's quality is comparable and price is 30-40% less. Just food for thought, good luck.

Dr. Barstad and his staff are excellent. I would highly recommend them.

Yeah, we haven't gotten an official price but our vet guessed between $1500 and $2500, which is honestly more than we can afford right now.

From the website, it looks like a top of the line facility. And we want Maggie's knee fixed for good, but if there's a cheaper option we need it.
