A guy at work brought in some spicy pickle slices for our Thanksgiving potluck. He makes them by adding "peppers and a few spices" to the jar when he cans the cucumbers to make pickles and they're delicious. They're seriously like candy and I could eat a whole jar in a sitting or two.

In trying to come up with a way to make some "spicy pickles" through a little bit quicker process, I had the idea to combine hamburger dill slices and pepperocinis, mix the juices, and re-jar them together. They turned out great! I think I will drain the dill pickle juice off in the future so they have a little bit more of the pepperocini flavor.

Of course, I also saw that the grocery store sells jars of "Hot Pickles" now.

Just an FYI if anyone likes to make their own relishes. Y'all already may be doing this and I'm just a dunce for only discovering it recently.

I LOVE the bread and butter jalapenos that HEB carries.

They are wonderful on burgers

I love those things. Unfortunately, my HEB doesn't carry them anymore, but I just buy the Mt. Olive jalapenos and the pickles and poor some of the jalapeno juice into the pickle jar. Works great!

jalapeno sweeties for the win....

I have a recipe here somewhere if anyone wants it. They are not hard to make yourself, just don't rub your eyes when making them.

I eat Woody's Smokehouse Cherry Sweet Fire by the jar. The sweetness covers the heat until the next morning when they pay you another visit.

Try "Wickles Pickles" if you can find them at your grocery store... their relish is outstanding.

I add a fresh cayenne or two to each jar of pickles when I make them. Damn they are good.

There is a recipe I have used for years to make hot garlic dill pickles. It's an old Czech recipe..won't help you now since it's not summer canning time, but if you are interested in the very easy recipe, let me know. My husband eats a whole jar in 1 sitting.

It might be worth planting a garden just to grow pickling cucumbers for hot and spicy pickles...

I hunted with a coon ass and he used to make some good cajun pickles. He would pour all the juice out and cut up the pickles and put them back in the jar. He would add some peppers and tabsco, mixed in with the pickles, and then fill the jar with sugar. The sugar would extract more juice from the pickles and peppers and make it a sweet/spicey combination. They were awesome.
