Or could have used it, but passed?

Opinions on them?

We've had them for many years (my in-laws for even longer) and haven't had any trouble with them at all.

We've used them since 1974. Well run company, good service, personal service. They don't give you the runaround if you have to file a claim.

Do you also use their affiliated home insurance?

Nope... still using USAA... sorry you don't qualify.

I've used them for 5 years. Rates are unbeatable (I switched from Geico). I haven't had an accident so I can't comment on paying of claims.

Here's my deal--I have been with them for many years. But we are buying a new old home, and we get a break on home insurance if we bundle everything together. So I will be losing $200 a year by staying with Ag Workers.

I won't bore you with the details, but there is a good chance if I leave Ag Workers, I won't be able to return in the future due to changing family circumstances.

So that's my dilemma.

Ive used them for about 7 years and my premium has decreased about every year. Very reasonably priced, good service. I got t-boned by a mobile construction crane 4 years ago. Long story, it was at night, I still don't think he had his lights on. Anyway, they were good to deal with. The only issue was that my truck was two months old with 700 miles on it and they wanted to pay me what I paid for the truck less depreciation for milage. However, my sister in law worked for ford and I was able to buy a new truck on their D Plan, which knocked about $10K off. My aguement was it didn't matter what I paid, but what the truck was worth. Since the truck was new, it was not listed in the NADA. So they paid sticker plus tt&l less milage. They then decided to cancel my policy, which you can't blame them. I pleaded my case and the circumstances of the accident and they instead placed me on one year's probation, no accident and no ticket. I was very greatful. I have no complaints. I would highly recommend them.

I've used them for several years. Great company, easy to deal with. I had some hail damage this year and they actually waived the deductible if it could be fixed with paintless dent repair. When was the last time you heard of an insurance company waiving a deductible?

We switched over to Ag Workers earlier this year because their rates CANNOT be beat! We are saving ~300 a year with them versus our previous insurer. I haven't had to file a claim, so I can't comment on that part, but from a service and affordability standpoint, they are great.

Sorta sounds like you all might be inclined to recommend I stick with them.

They have been good to me.

One story--had a car flooded in Katrina. Computer was ruined. I didn't think I had coverage for that, so I called in, and said "If I have x policy, then I don't have coverage do I?" Was told no.

So then later we claimed towing coverage to get it fixed. They said "why are you towing?" "Because it was flooded and doesn't run anymore." "You were covered for flood." "You told us we weren't." "Who told you?"

So they gave us a check for the vehicle. And the check was larger than I would have expected. I wonder if they padded it a little to keep me happy.

Lesson: never assume anything.

ag workers ins - good company with competitive rates. they are sometimes limited in the areas of tx where they will issue policies. good claim paying reputation also.

But, if I were you, I'd call State Farm

I would not leave Ag Workers if I were you. I am an insurance agent, and even with my comisiion it is cheaper for me to keep my coverage with Ag Workers.

Have you gotten a quote from Germania for the house?

I know in central texas they can't be beat on older homes, not sure where your house is.

I concur with the above poster. Ag Workers Rules! My wife and I pay @ $600/yr for both our vehicles, full coverage. I have never filed a claim though either.

With an Ag Workers vehicle insurance policy and Germania Home Insurance (as our insurance is) your rates will be far lower than anyone else you know, if you have a clean record.

Actually, USAA can, and does (an Ag Workers rep told me this).

I had them for several years, never had a claim and when I turned 25, Farm Bureau beat their price big time for my wife and I.

I quoted them on auto a few years ago and they were beat easily. I have heard good things about them though.

They do limit coverage on sporty vehicles--no convertibles, no two-seaters, no high-performance vehicles (i.e. corvette).

Also they won't provide comprehensive for any vehicle more than 10 years old. I have an 03 Tundra with <25k miles, and I plan to keep it for a long time, it's probably going to be worth something to me in 2013. I don't like that.

My parents have used them for YEARS. I was using them for 6 years and they threatened to drop me after a one vehicle accident (payout was around $10K). Then they dropped me when I was living in Oklahoma for graduate school (very frustrating, but I got coverage with State Farm). Got married and we qualify for USAA so we just went with them. My husband and I are both Ag majors so we'd qualify for Ag Workers, but USAA is a lot easier to work with than Ag Workers.

In my family's experience, we only had the one claim and Ag Workers was a pain in the butt to deal with.

This was true for my family as well.

My family has been with Ag workers for a long time (parents, brother, and myself) and have never had a complaint with them... even with body work.

Your post about the Tundra does question the Ag Workers policy though..... I would make sure that what you understand is true.

My parent and grandparents have had them for years. I would have them too but I have USAA.

i have been with them since '81. Have had several claims...no problems.
Great company and love their customer service.

You are throwing money away if you carry full coverage on a typical(not a high value) vehicle over ten years old. You will spend a couple hundred dollars a year and come claim time the insurance won't pay out very much.
shiftyandquick
How long do you want to ignore this user?
depends on the vehicle. A 10 year old BMW M3 low-miles good condition would probably be worth insuring.

My premium is going to go from ~1700 to ~1350, just because I am moving from Dallas County to an adjacent county.

Yowzers. That's more than I though, and I am not complaining one bit.
