I am getting ready to buy a shotgun pretty much dedicated to dove and other wingshooting. I'd like to know what shotguns those here on the OB like to take to the field and why. It doesn't have to be current production as I'm thinking on a Browning Superposed (Belgian)12ga w/28" bbls choked IM and Full. Please share your favorite.

Man, I like getting a new gun.

i shoot a beretta AL391 Teknys and it is a fine dove gun...it is a 12 gauge

My Ruger Red Label in 12 ga. with Improved and Improved Modified chokes. VERY few doves live to talk about it.

Remington 11-87 (12ga) that my Dad bought me when I was 15 has never let me down.....Although I have 3 others that I keep in the rotation for sentimental reasons.

I really want one of these in 20 gauge but dang they're high.

My old dove gun (although I didn't go very much) is a Browning Auto 5 20 gauge with a fixed IC choke. I recently picked up a Browning 525 Citori 16 gauge that I'm hoping to take to the field in the fall.

I shoot a '51 12 ga. Browning Superposed and absolutely love it. It has 28" full/modified barrels, great balance and weight and locks up like a vault. And don't worry about finding parts for an old Superposed, Midwest Gun Works should have you covered.

Remington 1100 with black synthetic stock, matte black barrel and tru glo sights in 12 gauge. This gun will take a beating and keep on ticking and only cost $300.

Rem 11-87 that I've had since 1992. IC choke in the Fall season, Mod for the winter season. #7 1/2 shot 1oz super speeds. I hope dove ammo isn't a beetch to find this year. That's gonna suk.

I have shot a 20 gauge auto since I was 11 Model 50 Winchester, still have it and shoot it some every year. I mainly shoot a 20 ga. Beretta auto now, don't see why you would ever need anything bigger.

The most important thing to me is that it is an over/under and that it has 26" barrels. 12, 20, or 28ga doesnt matter as much to me.
