In west Houston (i10-Beltway) - Does anyone know where to get compost for the lawn byt ht yard delivered. Lasy year I could only find it by the bag at the nursurys. Used Cornelius last year. Worked great.

However this year I want to get it by the yard and delivered.

A mulch place at Park10 byt he Acura dealership has compost, but is is not the finely shredded that is needed to use on the yard. Really just mulch and compost added together.

Called the katy one and they said they do not carry it. the website says they do.

Can get free horse manure at just about any horse barn. Make sure if you get it they turn the top and dig from the middle. Too many shavings in it can burn lawns (if that's what you'd use it for.)

Check craigslist.

As far as the compost, Living earth is your best bet, there are locations all over town, jut call the next closest. The horse manure may be a god option, except that it is not the pine shavings that will burn your lawn, it is the high level or urea (in the fresher manure) that will burn. Also, many people feed their horses hay that was from a pasture treated with grazon and that can stick around for a long time in the manure and harm your other trees shrubs or plants.

I use Nature's Way Resources because I like their compost better than Living Earth's, but it costs quite a bit more out here on the west side because they deliver it from Conroe.

Natures way looks good. Last time I looked a few years ago (leaf compost I believe).

Conroe delivery was the only issue.
