Anyone have a good source for cotton burr compost in the Houston area (NW would be preferred)?

Hmmm. In case you are planning to import cotton burrs from West Texas, do not be surprised that you are also importing seeds to your Houston lawns of Johnson grass, careless weed (amaranthus pig weed), treadsalve (horsenettle), Russian thistle (tumbleweed), and a few other leafy pests. Those plants should grow bountifully in Harris County. Your neighbors will love you.

I don't think they have cotton burr compost, but we buy leaf mold compost from Nature's Way Resources up in Conroe (http://www.natureswayresources.com/index.htm)

They will deliver pretty much anywhere in Houston, but it might cost a fair amount if you aren't real close to Conroe.
