How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have a Sony digital still camera that takes some videos in wmv format. Each time it makes a video, a .thm file comes accompanied with it. What are these files and are they important? Are they just temporary files?

it is a thumbnail, first frame of the video, just to help you distinguish if from others when browsing

so it wouldn't hurt anything if I delete them? Also, I don't see it being a thumbnail. I have that folder in thumbnail view (since it contains photos and videos) and each .thm file is just a blue icon thing.

They are thumbnails. You say you have it in thumbnail view? Well, all those little pictures that represent your files are the .thm files being displayed.

movie1.wmv will have for its icon, movie1.thm, or some similar naming convention.

EDIT- Now that I think about it more, it's probably a thunmbnail for the sake of the camera, or the program that came with the camera. Copy all the contents to another folder and delete the .thm files and see what happens. That will give you the best answer.

Also, why would you want to delete them? Serves no purpose to get rid of them.
