How the heck do you make your QB pull down the passing icons and run? I almost lost to Clemson trying to figure it out.

try looking in the manual or in NCAA 2005 i think it was L2 on PS2 and iono about xbox.

Yeah, I definitely thoroughly perused the manual... it was L2 on ps2, white button on xbox. L2 is throw the ball away now. Does anyone know?

You just hold down X on PS2 to scramble. I too am having trouble adjusting to the new controls.

Me too. The biggest thing to remember is that until the QB crosses the LOS, he will pass if you press a receiver's button.

Go to Practice and try it until you get it.

Try the triangle button then if L2 didnt work.

Thanks, yeah new controls always bug me when I'm so used to doing things the same way every time... I guess that's what I get for playing way too much NCAA '04 and '05.

Is there no way to reconfigure the controls so that you may play the same as '05? Just a suggestion.

I like the new controls, Reggie owns because I can run without bringing down the passing icons.

In Xbox, tapping the 'A' button will release the QB for a run - according to the Official XBox Magazine.

I like it this way. I can scramble and still have the option of throwing while on the run.

There is a lot of cool stuff in this game. YOu can change your RB's running lane right before the snap. You can change which LB is blitzing right before the snap.

I also had one of the OU RB's (not the traiter) put a juke on me that was so good the game flashed and went into super slow=mo while it happened. It was totally freakin awesome.

There is no longer a reciever set to the A button, A button is now sprint at every position and situation in the game. controls were hard to get used to at first, but now I'm scrambling and passing like a madman with Reggie. I like the new control scheme better.

not use to the new controls. i didn't buy last years game so i am so use to 2004. i enjoy the game a lot, its just gonna take some time getting use to.

my defense sucks! always pushing O instead X.

it is hard. I am having problems on d switching my guy. That is the hardest control to remember. Great game so far. Are you guys doing the dynasty or the race for the heisman?

I gave up 3 drives down to the red zone against clemson before i got used to the new controls. Only gave up occasional yards after that. One thing I like is that the computer doenst just throw the ball up if he gets in trouble, you have to work for ints.

Has anybody done Race For the Heisman as a defensive back? If so, you do the drills, and how do you get points in the defensive back drill?

I switched back to the old controls from the settings menu. You still get to use the X button to sprint out of the pocket and the juke buttons being the L1 and R1 feel more comfortable.

I tried it, got nothing, I think the only way to get points is to knock down or intercept a pass.

I intercepted a pass and had a tackle but no points. its pissin me off!

dont know, maybe you have to return the int for a td?

That doesn't work either, when you intercept the pass, the play stops. I dont understand this

maybe the idea is to keep the computer from getting any points. The lower its total the better you did. Maybe thats how it scores.

if you can't figure it out... give the ball the Lewis, he'll own against Clemson. Too bad he isn't the impact player... since an impact kicker doesn't help me much :P

It takes a while to get used to but when you do Reggie is almost unstoppable.

expecially if you get the flow of the play going one way and roll out the other way with reggie... then the sideline is all yours

I think the new controls are an improvement, but I keep making stupid mistakes. I tried to run with the QB once and threw the ball away instead. On defense I keep switching my guys every time I try to sprint and I end up taking the tackler out of the play. I keep trying to juke and I end up just stiff arming.

Under the old system, I typically held down the X "sprint" button as soon as I brought the passing letters down anyway, so this lets me do that without making me hit L2 again before I can throw.

Well I kept struggling with TU, of course it was the first game I fired up. I was getting hammered so I quit and played the battle of the Piney Woods between Sam Houston and SFA, won a battle 70-63 but this allowed me to get a feel of the game both running and passing. I'm still having some trouble getting sacks. I've been able to hurry the QB but it's tougher to get to him than past games. This could help in the reality dept. though. I then tried a game of the Aggies vs. Texas State to see how a powerful Big 12 school would match up with a lesser school and finally got what I was looking for, hung 45 on the poor Bobcats in the first quarter while shutting them out. Finally turned the game off after that quarter. Unfortunately I still have to go to work in the morning.

I actually had more trouble against texas state than I did against Clemson. The mobility of a QB is definately underrated sometimes. I sacked Whitehurst like 14 times and picked him 4 before they pulled him. I think I only got to the tsu QB 8 times and didnt pick him off once. Picked off the RB two or three times, but never the QB. And smu has a reciever that is like 8 feet tall, our db's were like letter high on his uniform.

Just hung 70 on the ponies and cats, I too made a DB in the game b/c it's our weakest position. Icecream AG is right, the point of the DB drill is to prevent the computer from making points. Of course you cant cover the entire field, but when the ball is thrown your way you have to make a good play.

You can change the controls back to the '05 style (which is what I did) and gradually conform to the new buttons in exhibition if you don't want to learn on the fly in a season game.

I too threw the ball away a lot, even after I read the manual, but as colleyville heritage aggie said, "once you learn it, reggie is unstoppable." He's gonna win the heisman, even though my DB has brought 4 punts back to the house in 5 games and has 3 picks.

And yes, it is after 4a.m. and I have class in the morning, so good luck gaming guys...

im doing dynasty. i think its more fun than the race. upped it to all-american before the season. texas state is next. i love the new audibles on D.

I saw that if you go to the control settings, you can change to "2005" controls.....

PatAg, I put 72 on clemson (including an entire 4th quarter appearance of my second team) with ease... including 3 80+ yard TD bombs and 2 punt returns. So passing game is really easy on AA, might have to up the sliders to make it more difficult. Plus Lewis had no problems getting 100+ yards in the first half
