My asus router is at EOL. I need a new one or a mesh system. On a 3200 sq ft 2 story house. Currently at 500 mbps service plan and my go to a gig but no more. I see the discount codes for netgear on this forum and am interested in orbital 770 with 1 satellite. Is this a decent rec or how would a stand alone router with more controls or an asus system compare. I like the no sub features of Asus but their recent reviews on Amazon seem sub standard. Those are kind of the 2 brands I'm looking at and am not interested in ubiquiti their WAP that came with the house is garbage and has soured me on it

I few months ago, I signed up for 1GB Spectrum for $30/month and upgraded my old setup to a NETGEAR Nighthawk CM3000 cable modem and TP-Link Deco 7 Pro BE63 mesh system with just 2 nodes. I thought I might need a third, but it's been rock solid everywhere in a similar sized house and even more coverage in the back yard.

I hear good things about TP-link but I cannot use them since I work from home some days a week

I just recently upgraded to the asus BE7200 router with lots of 2.5G ports and some 10G ports. I use this with a pair of Ruckus R550 APs I bought off ebay. Hard wired one of them in my garage plugged into a POE switch. The other one is in my 3000sq/ft 2 story home. works great.

I've used stand alone APs with an ASUS router for many, many years and it has worked great for me.
