I noticed tonight that I have taken my Frigidaire for granted. This workhorse has been there rockin' the cold for nearly (20) years.

We just had the estate sale for the house I grew up in a couple of months ago. We sold the old deep freeze that had been running on the back porch for 56 years. Some nice lady paid us $100 for it. Thing still runs like a top. Dad had painted it with appliance paint about 30 years ago. It needs another coat now.

That lady got a great deal! I have an old 50's GE that I need to order a new seal for and repaint as well. Otherwise, like you said, that old compressor purrs like a champ.

You got me beat.
I bought my refrigerator in 1984.

Sorry eric76, I thought you were implying that you still had it. I always liked the Hotpoint and Coldspots from the late 70's/early 80's era.

Wow, that's a cool icebox! I love the original patina around the top and door handle from all the times it was opened and closed.
It probably still runs with some minor work. Door seal, new outlet cable, etc. As long as the compressor doesn't have any leaks you'll be good to go!

Just a tip, those who collect stickers on their beer fridges (that aren't old and will be going out within the next few years), get some cling appliance wrap (Amazon). That way you don't lose all the stickers if you have to replace the fridge! Peel it off and put it on the new one.
