Looking to replace our 75" Vizio to something better and larger before football season.

My main concern are live sports and playing PS5 Pro on it.

The 100" TVs are badass, but it probably would be too big for the living room area.

Obviously would like to go LG, Sony or Samsung.

Would like to stay around $3-4k.

Just measured the dimensions and the wall. Definitely going to go with 85" now.

Anyone have recs on what the best TV is for the money?

I'm not an expert because my last 2 TVs were a 75" for outside next to pool and one for master bedroom... Both were budget TCL sets.

I haven't researched TVs in 3+ years because that was when I got my LG OLED (C model). This is the TV I use as my primary gaming (PS5 Pro) and movie set. It's absolutely awesome and I've had zero reasons to even glance at the latest TV tech.

I'm assuming there are some newer techs that some may claim are better and I'm assuming the OLED models are fair priced since they've been around for a while now.

Long story short, at least look into the LG OLED as an option. Amazing for games with variable refresh rates and low input latency gaming modes and every movie and football game I've watched on it looks amazing... Well, the football games vary but that's because the broadcasts sometimes suco.

I'd pay for a month of rtings.com and look at reviews of tvs in my budget if I were buying one that big.

Is that a paid site now? I've done a ton of research there over the years. As I said above, it's been a few years since I've researched TVs, but rtings is awesome.

Yeah their traffic plummeted once people started using AI for product research, which would scrape all of their reviews and present the information directly, thus killing their ad revenue.

That make so much sense.... I guess that's the reason why so many websites are becoming such a pain in the ass to access. You either have to create a log in or solve a bunch of "I am human" questions.

I didn't really consider the reasons why, I just know that I'm getting old and it annoys me!

I think I may pull the trigger on the Sony Bravia 7 ii.

They have a somewhat decent sale going on, and will also install/mount it for free.

Anyone have any experience with this model? And yes, it sucks that TV RTGS is behind a paywall now.

ETA I would love an LG C5 Oled at that size, but they're damn near $5k before taxes. Kind of hard to justify that cost.
